The wider the source, the softer the light - and you can build TommyBars® rigs as wide as you want. 

Soft sources don’t really start to obey the Inverse Square Rule until you start to get to a distance away from them that is five times their width. With that in mind we thought you might like an idea of how much light you can expect from a 16x TommyBars® rig, so we made a very simple infographic of foot-candles vs distance, and an even simpler one to convert foot-candles into exposure values.
